LAZY ROLLERCOASTER / 2017
A Rube Goldberg contraption (a scientific experiment resembling a roller coaster that endlessly rolls marbles) is adorned with living flowers. As the flowers wither, they disrupt the trajectory of the marbles. Eventually, the marbles can no longer roll.
This artwork reflects the essence of the Shin Danbi. Faced with the inertia of laziness amidst the overwhelming desire to do and accomplish so much – much like the marbles, the artist's work captures the struggle against the reluctance to move forward.
